Prof. dr Saša Orlović

Prof. Dr Saša Orlović was born in Sremska Kamenica in 1965. From 1985 to1990, he attended the Forestry Faculty in Belgrade with forestry as his major subject. He received his MSc and PhD degrees at the same faculty in 1993 and 1996, respectively. In 2005, he became Scientific Advisor and has since been working as Associate Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad.  Prof. Dr Saša Orlović is member of the Executive Committee of the UN-FAO IPC, Coordinator of the EUFORGEN program for Serbia, the representative of Serbia at the IUFRO, and President of the Forestry Council of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina of the Republic of Serbia. He participates in research carried out within the framework of the COST and TEMPUS programs and has authored or co-authored 170 scientific papers and reports as well as two poplar varieties. Since 2002, he has been Director of the Institute of Lowland Forestry and Environment in Novi Sad and Head of the Department of Landscape Architecture and Horticulture of the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad. He has been Vice-President of the Section on Breeding of Organisms of the Serbian Genetic Society since 2006.
